What is Bruxism?

Technical term for teeth clenching, this condition may develop due to an underlying cause or maybe due to habit.

What are the symptoms?

Loud teeth grinding, especially at night, - Chipped, flattened or loose tooth, - Worn-out enamel, making deeper layers visible, - Tight jaw muscles, - Pain in the jaw, neck or face.

Common causes of bruxism

Bruxism may be awake or sleep. Awake bruxism is usually due to emotional stress, as a coping mechanism or due to a habit.

Sleep bruxism

Sleep bruxism is due to chewing while asleep, this is usually out of habit or waking mid-sleep.
