I make it a point to use turmeric in my masks at least once a month. It has been a savior as a working professional braving pollution, harsh weather, and corporate vampires!

Let me take you through the different DIY recipes that I religiously apply:

Turmeric and mild mask

This one is more of a wet mask you do not need to keep for more than a minute as it dries quickly. Simply wash your face and pat it dry before applying the mask.

  • Take a tablespoon of turmeric powder and a tablespoon of milk. It can be raw, cold milk, or room temperature. Usually raw milk is better, as the alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) stay intact. You can also use yogurt to have a cooling effect.
  • Next, mix these two ingredients and apply them to your cleaned face. Keep it on till it is semi-dry and clean it with a damp cloth.

Apply your toner and moisturizer to seal all that goodness.

Turmeric and aloe vera

Alternatively, if you do not like milk or yogurt, you can swap it with aloe vera gel to get the benefits of turmeric on your face! If you have oily, acne-prone skin, this mask is going to be your best friend.

  • Add a tablespoon of turmeric and aloe vera gel and mix it up to make a paste.
  • Apply the paste all over your face and leave it for 5-10 minutes.
  • Massage your face before taking the mask off, and you will be all set!

Wash off the mask and seal all that goodness with your toner and moisturizer.
